Give Your Favorite Knives the Finish They Deserve

Premium Handle Restoration & Maintenance Oil

A sharp edge deserves a healthy handle.

After restoring thousands of kitchen knives, I've seen beautiful knives ruined by dry, neglected wood. That's why I created Vijay's Handle Butter—a food-safe blend that nourishes thirsty wooden handles, brings out their natural grain, and helps protect them from drying, cracking, and everyday kitchen use.

It's the same finish I use in my workshop after restoring heirloom Japanese knives, vintage carbon steel blades, and everyday chef's knives.

Whether your knife is brand new or has been in your family for generations, a few drops will keep it looking its best.

Made in Seattle. Handcrafted in small batches.

Contains walnut oil.

Why You'll Love It

✔ Restores dry, faded wooden handles

✔ Brings out the natural beauty of wood grain

✔ Helps protect against moisture and drying

✔ Food-safe ingredients

✔ Perfect for Japanese knives, Western chef's knives, hunting knives, pocket knives, and wooden kitchen utensils

✔ Made by a professional knife sharpener—not a cosmetics company

Before & After

Dry wood looks gray, chalky, and lifeless.

Just a light coat of Handle Butter instantly deepens the color, highlights the figure of the wood, and leaves it with a smooth, natural feel—not a greasy finish.

Your knife will look cared for again.

How to Use

  1. Clean and dry the handle.
  2. Apply a few drops with a soft cloth.
  3. Rub evenly into the wood.
  4. Let it soak in for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Buff away any excess.

For severely dry handles, apply a second coat after several hours.

Perfect For

  • Japanese kitchen knives
  • Chef's knives
  • Paring knives
  • Hunting knives
  • Folding knives
  • Wood knife scales
  • Cutting boards
  • Wooden kitchen tools

A Note From Vijay

I started making this because I couldn't find a wood treatment that gave my customers' restored knives the finish they deserved. Every knife that leaves my shop gets treated with this blend. Now you can give your own knives that same professional finish at home.
